4 Easy Halloween Makeup Looks

PicMonkey Collage

Hi everyone..long time no see…SORRY! But I am back! We all came up with simple Halloween makeup looks that are easy and are perfect for last minute ideas!

image9A black cat! Probably one of the most simplest yet effective Halloween looks! To complete the look why not add cat ears!

image7

Step 1Start by creating an even skin tone. We used a face powder a few shades lighter for Sian’s look.

Step 2 – Using a black pencil eyeliner follow the shape of the brows and fill them in. This will define them and make them stand out!

Step 3 - Create a cat eye by extending the eyeliner into a wing shape. Do the same to the inner corner of the eye.

Step 4 – Paint in the nose! There are many different options for this but we decided to keep it simple! Don’t forget to connect your nose to your lips with a thin black line.

Step 5The whiskers! Draw three dots just above your lip and 3 lines across the cheeks image8to great the whiskers. For best results use a liquid eyeliner and try to do it 1 sleek stroke.

Step 6Last but not least, the lips. We decided to add a touch of red to the lips and create an ombre effect with the black eyeliner. All you need to do is apply the red how you normally would then use the black pencil liner as a lip liner. Ever so slightly drag the black into he read and there you have it!

image3 (1)The china doll. We think a cute collared dress would go with this look perfectly!

Step 1  – As with the first look, start by creating a flawless, doll-like skin tone. We again used a powder a few shades lighter to give Becky a paler complexion.

Step 2 – Fill in the brows using a colour the same shade as your hair. This gives the doll a more natural look.

IMG_3398Step 3 – Find the area around your eye socket. You should be able to feel this quite easily with your finger. Once you have found it, using a black liquid eyeliner draw a half circle joining it to the corners of your eyes. For a doll-like look draw in lower lashes. You can even use false lashes!

Step 4 – Fill in the half circle under your eye with white eyeliner or face paint

Step 5 – Apply liquid eyeliner to your upper lashes and apply a generous amount of mascara. The bigger the better! Again apply false lashes if you have them.

Step 6 – Apply a bright pink blush to apples of your cheeks. Apply dots randomly mimicking freckles.

Step 7 – The lips! Cancel out your lip colour using concealer. Draw the lips in using a black eyeliner pencil. Fill in your lips using the same ombre technique as the first look!

The witch! This would look perfect with a long black wig!

Step 1 – Create a flawless base with a pale foundation

Step 2 – Fill in the brows with a black eyeliner and trace round the edges with an eye-shadow of your choice, ideally the shade you will be using on the eyes.

image5

Step 3- Pick 2 shades of the same colour. With the lightest colour apply it all of the lids. With a fluffy brush apply the darker colour into the crease of your eyelid blending it out well.

Step 4 – Apply a generous amount of liquid eyeliner to the top and bottom lash line. As with the cat look wing out the eyeliner for a more dramatic look.

Step 5 – The lips. With the same technique as before create an ombre effect on the lips. This time emphasize the bow of your lips using the liquid liner.

image6Step 6 – This step is completely optional! We decided to get creative and draw a spider web and a spider. For a better effect we went over it with a grey eyeshadow.

image1 (1)This look is really simple yet really effective!

Step 1 – Apply a matte black eye shadow directly onto the skin. No need to be neat. Map out where you want your bruises to be and cover the entire planned bruise with the black eye shadow blending out the edges.

Step 2 – Using a dark red lipstick place small dots over the bruise and blend them out with your finger. This gives the bruise more dimensions and makes it look realistic

Step 3 – Repeat steps 1 and 2 until you are completely happy with your look!

July Beauty Favorites ~ CatchAnEye

image(2)I have had so many beauty favorites this month but I wanted to keep it short and sweet! so I picked my absolute favorites!

image(9)Soap and Glory ~ Smoothie – Breakfast Scrub

I am always in the market for a good body scrub, I get through them like nobodies business! I have never tried Soap and glory but have heard amazing things so I thought I would give this a go. Let me tell you…the smell!! If you don’t buy this at least go give it a smell. Its made with oat, sugar and shea. The combination makes it smell like caramel. The sugar gives you a good full body exfoliation without leaving you feeling sticky. Iv used this every couple of days since I got this around a month ago and as you can see I have made the tiniest dent compared to the amount you get.
You can pick it up online here for £8

Fotor0803154536Clinique Chubby Stick ~  06 Woppin’ Watermelon

I got this free in Glamour magazine, which is amazing because they retail for £17 full size. I’m pretty sure this isn’t full size but its a decent sample size. I have found now the weather is a tad warmer its far more enjoyable to use. Before it felt like I was trying to smear crayon on my lips. In the heat it has become much easier to apply. Its a sort of “my lips but better” colour. Its nice and sheer but as a pop of colour. I don’t really like the smell though.
You can pick it up online here for £17
Fotor0803155123So Susan ~ Universal Blush

Personally I hate the look of blush on me. I have never found one to suit my pale complexion. I got this blush in a Glossy Box and decided to give it a go. It claims to work with your skins natural chemistry to create a universal healthy flush that is flattering on all skin tones. I think it actually lives up to its claims! A little goes a long way and it gives me a gorgeous glow! I dont think I would pay full price because it is kinda expensive, but if you can get it on a deal or find it on eBay, go for it!
You can pick it up here for £17.95

image(7)Rituals ~ Magic Touch Body Cream ~ Cherry Blossom & Rice Milk

I’m pretty sure I have mentioned this in a favorites before but its still going strong! I love everything about this. This smell especially. It sinks in to your skin quickly and the scent lingers for a good 24 hours! The only down side is I am quickly running out! Its time to repurchase this one.
You can pick it up here for £5.50

image(10)MUA ~ Undressed Eyeshadow Palette

This is said to be a superb dupe for Urban Decays Naked Palette but for a fraction of the price! I cant shed any light on this I’m afraid as I have never tried the Naked palettes. It is the perfect neutral palette. The shades are all shimmer except for 3 matte shades. I can use this from day to night and would defiantly recommend it!
You can pick it up here for £4

Fotor0803154352The Body Shop ~ Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream – 01 Light

I’m almost done I promise! I saved this one till last because its my favorite out of the lot. It is one of the only BB creams I have found that is light enough for my pale complexion. A little goes a long way and it doesn’t cling to any dry patches. The coverage isn’t the best but its a great base for concealer for those with problem skin! It comes in 3 shades so give it a go!
You can pick it up here for £8

So there we have it! What are your July favorites??
Have a beautiful day! xxx

DGJ Organics Colour Remover – for light tones Review

photovisi-downloadHi everyone, so as you know I have blonde hair. I decided I wanted a change and long story short I made the stupid decision, or shall I say my hairdresser did, to go back to brunette. It took me a good month to get the blonde I wanted and it was all taken away within 30 minutes. It’s fair to say I was completely gutted when I saw the final look.

Don’t get me wrong I have had the odd compliment but it has been pretty unanimous that I suit blonde far more!

Being a girl…It was really getting me down and I had to do something about! So I took a trip into town to find a miracle! I am on a bit of budget at the moment so I headed to Savers. There were loads of colour strippers but this one caught my eye!

It said “with Organic cucumber and Aleo Vera extracts to sooth and condition the hair”. “Contains no bleach or ammonia”. I thought if this works I may have found the holy grail of turning blonde with minimal damage…and I think I did!!

Application

So the instructions are easy enough to follow. Just a heads up…even if you are hair dying pro make sure you read the instructions because there are a few bits that aren’t like the usual dyes.

Not going to lie…this product stinks!

I separated my hair into sections because my hair was so dark I really didn’t want to miss anything.

The consistency is like any other dye. Slightly runny so nothing special there!

First ImpressionsIMG_3690

I stuck as plastic bag on my hair. It recommends that you use cling film but I didn’t have any. It seemed to do the same job! The instructions say to leave it on for 30-60 minutes. Of course I went for the 60 minutes. Living on the edge….

I followed the washing instructions. Rinse your hair thoroughly for at least 5 minutes and then use the colour buffer they supply you with and rinse that out for a further 5 minutes. you then shampoo and condition as normal.

The Results

My god! The results…Amazing! I wasn’t expecting much to be honest. Maybe a patchy light brown. I washed it out and all that jazz and looked in the mirror. My hair was a really light orange. For a product with no bleach that is brilliant! My hair felt just as healthy as before. All traces of brown were gone and I am well on the way to getting my blonde back! I have dye in my hair as I type so fingers crossed!

Pros

  • It actually does what it says on the box
  • It was only £2.99 in Savers
  • It has no bleach or Ammonia
  • It doesn’t irradiate the scalp

Cons

  • The smell!!

So there we have it! If you have tried it let me know what you think!

Have a beautiful day! xxx

I Got My Braces Off!

10487397_10154314092445162_2861559524710006444_nHi everyone!

So after 4 and a half long years…I FINALLY got my braces taken off! they are not “text book perfect” as my dentist liked to point out but they are mine and I love them!

Originally I had a horrendous open bite that made me so self conscious, shy and held me back in so many ways. For those not lucky enough to have perfect teeth, I think you know what I mean!

Getting braces was THE best decision of my life so far. Hands down!

So expect a lot more grins in my blog post from now on! :D

How I Maintain Blonde Hair ~ CatchAnEye

Untitled1As many of you know I went from brown to blonde about 7 months back. I am not going to lie it was hard work! I will do a blog post on that process at a later date. Recently I have been getting lots of questions on how i maintain my bleached hair. I would just firstly like to say that this may not work for everyone it’s just how I do it!

1 – Dont wash your hair more than 3 times a week.

Some people find this really gross but it is actually really unhealthy to wash your hair every day. It strips the natural oils out of your hair. Not only will it strip a lot of the colour out but it will dry your hair out so much more. If you are worried about getting greasy hair opt for a dry shampoo. One of my favourits is Batiste. There are so many great ones on that market at the moment. You can actually train your hair so it doesn’t get as greasy as often by leaving it longer and longer every time you wash it.

Here is a link of some great  dry shampoo alternatives!

Woman shampoo2 – Picking the right shampoo

When it comes to shampoo its really important you pick the right one for you! I have listed a few ones down below that are for more targeted goals. so whether you are trying to get rid of the brassyness, restore the condition or sooth a sore, itchy scalp there just should be one for you!

images

3 – Conditioner

Conditioning your hair is essential. Especially if you have used bleach. So please don’t skip this step! Your hair is far more prone to snapping off if you don’t use a conditioner! I am not fussy with my conditioner I have never used one that hasn’t done the job.

download (1)4 – Hair Treatments

There are some amazing hair treatments out there! I use mine twice a week as my hair is quite brittle. One of my favorites is Lush’s Marilyn Hair Treatment. It gets rid of all the brassy tones in your hair and leaves it super soft!

[Quick Tip! - After applying your hair treatment wrap it up in cling film to heat up your hair faster!]

I have done a review on this product I will link it here!

I will link some other great hair treatments for blonde hair down below!

If you are on a budget I did a review on a DIY hair mask made from Mayonnaise of all things! I will link that here too!

5 – Root Touch Upshair-dying-1_300

This one is a biggy! Once you have got your desired colour and you want to touch up the roots (at home) try not to dye over already blonde hair. Try to avoid the ends and just apply the dye to the roots. IF you have bought a dye kit especially designed for lightening hair it will usually have separate instructions for just root touch ups. Just something to bear in mind!

cropped-1507736_10153726654215162_2131371238_n11.jpg

6 – A few extra tips!

  •  Always use a heat protection when styling with heat
  • Never rub your hair with a towel it can damage it quite considerably
  • Get a hair cut regularly to get rid of the dead ends

I hope this helped someone out there! Stay tuned for my brown to blonde post! If you have any tips for me please let me know down below!

My Summer Essentials!

IMG_3584Well summer is in full swing! Woohoo! So its about time I got my butt in gear and made a summer essentials post! Plus I’m not going to lie… I’m missing my blogger friends!

IMG_3590Suncream

First things first…If you are pale I feel ya pain! Lets be honest we are not made for this weather!! However if your not fair skinned this “essential” is still really essential!!  So keep on top of that sun cream application! It’s recommended that you apply it every 2 hours. I am all for getting a nice glow but you can actually get a tan even if you wearing sun protection so there is no excuses!

SunglassesIMG_3592

Not only do they look gorgeous but they will actually enable you to see instead of squinting! Squinting is one of the biggest causes of pre-mature wrinkles! Keep those pesky crows feet away and buy a pair!

Mine are from Newlook, I am loving the matte finish on them. Primark also has some really cute affordable ones right now!

I did a post of picking frames to suit your face shape that you can check out here!

IMG_3588Water

Water is a essential all year round but particularly important during the summer. Not only does it keep you hydrate but it makes your skin flawless! Personally I do not drink enough water so I am going to try my best and purchase one of these really cute water bottles. Its much easier to get the amount you need when its right there in front of you! Its recommended that you aim for about 2L of water a day.  If your not a fan of water you can always chop up some fruit, I like strawberries, and throw them in there for some flavour! Also keep a glass by your bed!

Fake it till you make it!download-1

False tan is a much safer way of having that sexy summer glow. So instead of cooking yourself in the sun opt for a cheeky spray tan! If you are more body conscious do it yourself with one of these great alternatives! St. Tropez gives you a beautiful, natural looking tan as it doesn’t have that orange pigment in it that everyone is so conscious of!

You can purchase St.Topez products here!

305595709Swimwear

Treat yourself to a new bikini or swimming costume! Tis the season after all!

I love this from Newlook!

IMG_3595IMG_3597

Clothing

This summer I am loving play-suits! Or rompers as they are called in America! This one I am sporting is rather an equired taste but I love it! I got this one of my trip to America a few years back!

I am also loving coral and orange colours! I got this beautiful top from Primark for just £5. I love the chain strap details!

IMG_3598Hair

No-one likes their hair in their face when it is hot and sticky outside! This is my go-to hair style as of current! It is so easy and perfect for days when you want your hair completely out your face! You can customize it with a few summery accessories too! Personally I like to mix the edgy and girly look with a few curls and this spiked head band!

May I just add this hair isn’t mine! I wish!

Makeup20039m_l

Keep it natual! This BB cream from The Body Shop is a great option if you want a light coverage! Always opt for waterproof makeup in the summer too! Ya never know what could happen!

So there they are! What are your summer essentials? Do you have any plans this summer? Let me know down below!

Whatever you are doing stay safe and have a beautiful day! xxx

My Sick Day Essentials!

download (3)I have one of these annoying immune systems that can be healthy for the entirety of winter but as soon as the sun appears I get a nasty cold! I am sure I am not alone when I say…man flu is not just a man thing!! I am a nightmare when I am ill, just ask my other half! I am extremely demanding…I make weird dramatic noises and throw my gross tissues everywhere! I am still recovering from said “man flu” and thought I would give you a few words of wisdom to make you feel that tiny bit better!

Getting the balance of work and rest!download (2)

We all have daily commitments, whether that is work or school. Now this is a very new thing to me as I usual retreat to my bed, make a fort and don’t come out until it is all over! This time I have tried working through it. Granted getting up when you feel like rubbish is the hardest thing in the world but you will so much better once you are up and busy. Saying that, i am going to completely contradict myself and say rest is essential! Your body needs time to recover and heal itself. So get the balance right! Whenever you can try and get a nap or an early night!

[Update! I have admitted defeat and I am taking a day off work to rest. The more you rest the quicker you will feel better!]

Take a bath!download (1)

Now…I am not saying that you smell! I am just saying having a nice hot bath or shower clears your sinuses, opens your pores and makes you feel so much fresher!

Gather the essentials!

Before retreating back to your layer grab your essentials. There is nothing worse than getting comfy and realizing you have left something in the other room, which at this point feels like miles away!

  • A drink (preferably water or orange juice) Keep hydrated
  • A snack, you may not feel like eating but its really important
  • Tissues
  • Entertainment e.g the laptop, a book or magazine
  • Medication
  • Lip balm- Prevent the inevitable chapped lips!

Keep up with your hygiene routine!

After working in a hospital you would be surprised at how many people refused to wash and change because their poorly! Eiw.

By all means stay in your pj’s all day long, that’s what I do, but change them when you wake up. Put some fresh ones on or wear a hoody and some leggings. The main point is to change into something clean and fresh!

Keep on top of your skin care routine making sure you apply moisturizer.
Relax!download
Try your hardest not to worry about how much school or work your missing or what needs doing around the house. The more you relax the quicker you will get better.
Also make sure you get lots and lots of sleep!

Well that’s my tips! What do you like to do when your poorly?
If you’re not very well I hope you feel better soon! xxx
